Cynara's B Litter

Our foundation bitch, Katie was bred to Jack Sparrow at the end of June 2009 using AI. Ten beautiful pups were born on August 26, 2009. These pups have a pedigree loaded with show champions, agility stars and lure coursing dogs from the US and Canada. At 5 weeks old the pups started developing distinct personalities and we began studying them closely to determine the best home for each one. Eight of the ten pups have show ridges. One adorable boy named Louie has two fans and 4 crowns (pet ridge) and another boy has an extra crown if you rub his ridge a certain direction. It doesn't show all of the time but it is there. Pick of the litter is Teal girl. The Blue and White boys also rated very well for show potential. All of the puppies have beautiful clean coats, long tails, strong feet, correct bites, long ridges and deep briskets. Most of the puppies have proper head ratios, good forechest, front fill, rear angulation, and shoulder layback. The puppies found loving homes in several states including Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Idaho, Louisiana, Washington and Oklahoma. All will be companions first and foremost but several will participate in agility, lure coursing and conformation.

Look for yourself, but I think Jack is simply striking. He is a gorgeous red wheaten color with a masculine well-defined head and soft warm eyes. Great temperament and smooth flowing movement in the show ring are a few more of his attributes. Jack is a multiple Best of Breed (BOB) winning Canadian Kennel Club champion. On October 29, 2009 he won his first Best In Specialty Show (BISS). He also won Best Puppy in a Specialty Show as a youngster. In October 2008 Jack took BOB at Canada's largest dog show. Katie is a beautiful elegant bitch who moves lightly as a cloud. This is her second litter. Her first litter have excelled in the show ring and on the lure coursing field. Katie was selected as the #2 Brood Bitch at the May 2009 RRCUS National Specialty. All of Katie's pups have grown up to be smart, stable, devoted to their people and wonderful travelers. Dams pass on their temperaments to their puppies which is one of the reasons that snappy, mean or freaky dams can't be tolerated in a breeding line.

LITTER STATs: 10 pups (7 males, 3 females); 8 show ridges; 1 male 2 fans & 4 crowns; 1 male 3 crowns, 1 female neck dermoid (discovered at 5 1/2 months), 1 pup has PPM (minor issue) in 1 eye, with a tiny punctate cataract [probably remains of PPM] in the other eye, 10 confident temperaments with steady eye contact and wagging tails.

We put collars on the puppies to make it easy to tell them apart. The collar colors are listed in the order the pups were born along with their sex, registered name and titles/certificates and health tests (if any).

4. Cynara's Beguiling Calypso, AXJ NA NF CGC HIC TT JH-B "Cali" (pink girl) - Spayed - Cali is the 1st Cynara Ridgeback to earn an Agility Excellent title. CERF 2010 Normal - Cali earned 4 pts in the show ring before being spayed. Cali is running from 3-3.9 yards per second on every Q run.
