Cynara's B Litter - Born 8/26/09 - Stack Shots

Parents:  "Katie" CH. Jendaya's Mint Julep of Cynara, RE HIC CGC & "Jack" Can. CH. The Black Pearl Of Course.  Offspring:  10 beautiful ridged pups - 7 males and 3 females.
 

1st set of stacked photos taken on 10/5/09.  Pups almost 6 weeks (40 days old).  It is difficult to get good stacked shots when the puppies are young because they are just starting to learn what what is expected plus being a little scared plus not having developed enough muscles to hold a stack.  The best reason for doing stacked shots at this age is practice.  Don't be surprised if a few of the puppies look a little like a stubborn mule.  These photos are good examples why using force doesn't work well with Ridgebacks. 2nd set of stack photos taken 10/9/09.  Puppies 6 weeks and 2 days old.  We decided to switch tactics and use yogurt to get their attention.  Compare these photos using food as an incentive to the photos above taken 4 days earlier using force.  The puppies look happier and for the most part have prettier stacks.  Puppy assistants Ron & Pauline Asbury & Doug Rosener.
