Cynara has only produced three litters of puppies even though we've owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 2001. Having fewer puppies allows us the luxury of spending more time working with and helping new Ridgeback owners. We always take time to answer e-mails and phone calls and even try to keep up with Facebook posts and text messages. Our puppy people are special to us and many of them feel the same way about us but feel even stronger about their Cynara Ridgeback. Below are some of their comments:

"I am the proud owner of 4 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, including 2 half brothers I purchased from Elaine Hudson of Cynara Ridgebacks. Elaine is a terrific RR breeder, she will answer any and all questions you have re: your puppy or the breed in general. During the pregnancy Elaine keeps everyone updated on the website. After the puppies are born Elaine always has pictures and info going for future owners. "Wanted to send a quick note to express our gratitude for being a person we could rely on when we began searching for a quality breeder. I was taken with this breed over 20 years ago. At the time it was merely their stunning appearance that drew me in, but did not become serious until 4.5 years ago. We acquired our first RR, a male, from a local breeder in Texas; however our experience was anything but ideal. We decided to get another RR, but this time we knew a lot more and were definitely going to do our homework.

As you may remember, we were given your name by a lady we met at a lure coursing event. When I called you the first time, I felt at ease immediately and as we became acquainted and I asked my questions, it dawned on me that you were interviewing me as well. From that point on, I was very aware that we were dealing with someone who cared about the breed and not someone interested in how much money they were making. We discussed wanting a female even though we have no plans to breed and various other things. Your guidance helped us feel at home and we never felt pressured one way or the other. We visited your home so we could get to know each other better and I knew immediately we would get along because we were both Sooner fans. That being said, we were not in a hurry and were only concerned with finding the right breeder. Thank you for your patience and guidance. Since we didn't know exactly what to expect from a 'quality' breeder, we were overwhelmed by how much information you provided throughout the process. We received regular progress updates, as well as reading, feeding and training suggestions. By the time Stella became pregnant, we were so excited that we could not stand it. It's funny to say, but I felt like an expectant father waiting for the 'stork' to arrive. Once our little girl arrived, all we could think about was what does she look like...can't wait to hold her...etc. Then the weekly picture slide show updates began arriving and all I can say is they were awesome!!

Shelby has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is full of energy like all puppies and has been a bundle of joy from the moment she settled into our house. We were so amazed that she did not cry or experience very much separation anxiety. She slept through the first few nights with hardly a whimper and we attribute this in large part to the amount of socialization she was exposed to prior to us picking her up as well as our family being prepared when we brought her home. Thank you so much as it made the transition really easy. We are hopeful she likes to course like her step-brother. She showed signs of interest when she participated in some of the recent fun runs held by the TVRRCOT club in March, so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

�I met Mark and Elaine Hudson through the dog showing circuit, where Cynara Ridgebacks have a stellar reputation. They are known for breeding healthy, well temperamented, beautiful and true to standard ridgebacks.
